Had he lived, the King of Rock and Roll would be 75 on January 8th.
It’s hard to imagine what he’d look like. So instead, let’s look back to when he was a healthy, good-looking 20-year-old.

The photo on this Elvis LP was taken on July 31, 1955.
The place was the Fort Homer Hesterly Armory in Tampa, Florida.
Elvis was near the bottom of the bill, while the headlining act was the ‘aw-shucks’ comic Andy Griffith! The future King was viewed nothing more than a regional act who put on an energetic show.

One photographer on hand was William V. “Red” Robertson. He was a professional field photographer and was hired by Presley’s manager, Colonel Tom Parker, to document the show.
With just one click on his camera, Robertson captured a shot heard round the world. A revolution was about to begin.
