<p>One of the most popular comic strip characters in the 1980s was a penguin named Opus.<br />
He starred in <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bloom_County"><em>Bloom County</em></a> and was created by <a href="http://www.berkeleybreathed.com/pages/About.asp">Berkeley Breathed</a>.<br />
The strip ran from 1980 to 1989.<br />
He appeared in a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opus_(comic_strip)">self-titled Sunday comic strip</a> from 2003 to 2008.</p>
<p>Opus was known for his rather large nose and herring addiction. </p>
<p>This plush Opus doll was just one of many released in the 1980s.<br />
His hat reads &#8220;Dandelion Preservation &#038; Appreciation Society.&#8221;</p>

<p>One item I love looking for when I&#8217;m out thrifting is cartoon character bed sheets. </p>
<p>Once in a while I find a full set, but usually I come across just the top flat sheet. </p>
<p>Qualities to look for are condition, classic characters and bright, vibrant colors.<br />
Bed sheets are <em>not</em> rare, but they are hard to find in good quality. </p>
<p>I&#8217;ve sold bed sheets to the UK and Japan as well as the US.<br />
Cartoon characters are universal and they appeal to a wide market of collectors.</p>
