A brief lesson on the Girl Scout Uniform as written in “The Girl Scout Handbook”:
The little group of girls in Savannah, Georgia, that in 1912 formed the first Girl Scout troop in the United States, made its uniforms of a dark blue durable material. The ties were light blue, and it was a proud day for the troop when it first appeared in uniform. The color of the Girl Scout uniform was later changed to khaki and still later to the present green, which is recognized throughout the country as the Girl Scout color.
