These days, so many celebrities endorse products and make a killing on licensed merchandise that it’s become the norm.
But back in the 1930s, the celebrity and product pool was much smaller.
Shirley Temple was an exception to the rule.
Temple-inspired products made for a multi-million dollar business.
There were dolls, books, clothes and hundreds of other products.
