First, there were Hummels.
Then, came the Monks.
The Goebel company introduced Hummel figurines in 1935.
These handcrafted, decorative collectiblies sold by the millions.
Collectors just couldn’t get enough.
In the early 1950s the company introduced the Friar Tuck and Red Cardinal series.
And before you could say, “Holy Smokes!” Monks and cardinals were flying off the shelves.
It was a functional line as the monks and cardinals were released as tableware rather than decorative pieces.
Goeble discounted the monk line in 1988.

    HI Joanne -

I did a little bit of research online as I’m not an expert on Goebel figures, but this is what I found.
On Replacements.com a complete condiment set tray is on sale for $109.95, so if you only have the tray, I would think it’s value is 1/4 of that.
You may also want to check with a seller who sells them on a regular basis. Here’s one for you Atticshoppe.com
I hope this helps and thank you for your question!
