Where to dig for fun stuff in Salem, Massachusetts

In 1692, twenty men and women were put to death in Salem, Massachusetts. They were convicted of witchcraft. Thankfully the Salem witch hysteria lasted only a short time – about six months. But it’s been well over six decades since the city became a major tourist attraction and a great place to dig for treasure. Whenever I go to Salem (about twice a year) I try and do both!
I’ll leave the tourist site recommendations to Berlitz, but here are two places I always check out for collectibles.

Harrison's
HARRISON’S COMICS & COLLECTIBLES

I love Harrison’s Comics & Collectibles! If you love pop culture collectibles then this is the place for you!
They specialize in comic books, but you can also find lunch boxes, posters, Star Wars memorablia and the like. I usually search for boxes containing old music magazines, ie: early Rolling Stone issues, underground music mags, etc. Oh, and make sure to scan the items behind the counter!

WITCH CITY CONSIGNMENT & THRIFT STORE

Now the place to go and really get your hands dirty and look for bargains is the Witch City Consignment & Thrift store. It’s on the same street as Harrison’s (Essex Street) and this is the place you’ll really want to poke around. Being a thrift store it is hit or miss. I usually walk away with something, but I always wish I found more.

Obviously, there are a ton more shops to explore, but I’d like to leave the rest to you! So, please feel free to make a comment and add your suggestion.
