Have you driven a Ford lately? Well, to be honest I haven’t. Many years ago I owned a Ford Escort. But the point of this blog entry isn’t to answer the car company’s slogan/question. I want to mention briefly key moments in the history of this iconic logo.
The very first logo (in 1903) was designed by Harold Wills, an assistant of Henry Ford’s at the time. Since then the logo has changed slightly. The oval was first used in the United Kingdom in 1907 and two years later the famous Ford script became a registered trademark. The blue was first used in the mid-1920s. The current design has been in use since 2003, the 100th anniversary of the Ford Motor Company, and it’s dubbed the “Centennial Blue Oval.”
